Bosch User Research
2020

As part of my internship, I conducted an in-depth user research project at a Robert Bosch factory in Bamberg, interviewing several employees on-site. The project spanned several weeks and included planning, conducting and analysing information about a specific work process at the factory. Due to a non-disclosure agreement, I am unable to share the specific subject or results of the research. However, I can highlight the methodology and approach I applied throughout the project.

Research process
Contextual inquiry
To better understand how workers are operating on-site I studied their daily challenges and asked them about topics that made their work more challenging.
This helped me asking the right questions in the course of my user research and covering topics I was not aware of before.

Semi-strcutured interviews
In addition to the contextual inquiry I conducted multiple semi-structured interviews in which I had the opportunity to focus on more specific topics and details that could not be covered bevore. Each interview took about 45 minutes.

Card sorting
After my user research at the Bosch factory I used the card sorting method to cluster all the information I gathered. Based on my findings I prepared a presentation and handed it over to my supervisor for further work.
